MUSHROOMS

Many mushrooms are similar in appearance to each other, even though some may be poisonous and others edible. Identification can only be achieved through spore testing, which takes time and makes the mushroom past prime for eating.

For identification, refer inquiries to local hospitals or the a Regional Poison Control Center.

A good mushroom reference is the Peterson Field Guide to Mushrooms. However, it should only serve as a reference and not an absolute authority.
